Get ready to laugh until your belly hurts and join in the fun with The Kenny Shaw Trio on Sept. 27.
The trio is hosting a fundraising concert called A Tribute to the 60s — Music, Comedy & Sing-a-long, at St. George's United Church. The concert will raise money for Comox Valley Child Development Association and St. George’s United Church.
Known to many in the Comox Valley, musician/comedian Kenny Shaw is a multiple BCCMA awards winner and Hall of Famer. He is a sought-after performer at festivals, conventions, and on cruise ships. He was recipient of the Queen's Sovereign Medal for Volunteers.
Other members of the trio include veteran musicians — Valori Schaefer, a vocalist and bass ukelele player, veteran of theatre and vocal ensembles; and vocalist and multiple instrumentalist, Brian Temple.
Temple is an original member of The Hudson Brothers (NBC's Razzle Dazzle in the 70s). During the "request" portion of the show, the audience will test his extensive knowledge of rock and roll hits.
The trio performs a fun musical tribute to the music and Pop Culture of the 60s with precise harmonies, skits, trivia, impressions, and more.
Tickets are $25 in advance on Eventbrite. They are also at the church office in advance or $30 at the door.
Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable donations for the Comox Valley Foodbank, as well; there will be a collection box at the door.
