JAIME WILLMS AND Dany Fortin are at the Potter's Place for the month of April.

What a treat to have one of our members, Jaime Willms and her husband Dany Fortin as collaborative feature artists at the Potter's Place for the month of April.

Jaime grew up in the Valley and studied art at North Island College. She takes great inspiration from the fabulous surroundings of the Comox Valley as well as from her travels through Asia.

In their show this month, Jaime has made the pots and Dany has carved Year of the Dragon images on the woodfired pieces.  The functional ware is beautifully glazed with combinations of a deep reddish black-brown and a delicious green white celadon.  Food-safe and oven-ready, these are pots that can be used every day to bring beauty as well as food into people's lives.

Jaime is working on Saturday, April 14 and invites you to come view her work and talk with her about pottery and art.

The Potter's Place is open Monday to Saturday  10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the corner of Fifth and Cliffe in the Courtyard in the cultural heart of downtown Courtenay.
