It’s already been over three months since the start of the Jilli Martini Showcase Tuesdays at the Avalanche Bar in downtown Courtenay. The Tuesday night event took off well right from the start and is still going strong. There has been great feedback in regards to the format of dedicating a full set each week, to feature a different group/artist.
The last Tuesday of the month (May 29), the Jilli Martini Band will play the whole evening, then resume the following Tuesday to the lineup of special guests for June. At present, the Jilli Martini Band is primarily a dance band, promising something for everyone, covering favorite hits from many era’s and styles.
The Jilli Martini Band currently consists of Jilli Martini (aka Jillian Gathright) on vocals, Peter Cloud Panjoyah (of Hornby Island) also on vocals, Doug Biggs on guitar, Andre Forgues on bass and Blair Bentley on drums.
The music starts at 8 and is all wrapped up by 11. Kitchen is open until 10 p.m.
