LONGTIME MUSICAL PARTNERS Doug Cox and Sam Hurrie reunite this Saturday at the Cumberland Hotel.

Doug Cox and Sam Hurrie are reuniting for one special night at the Cumberland Hotel on Dec. 15.

Together, they have been called "Zen masters of Canadian Roots music."

They performed together with their band and as a duo for eight years. They were signed to the Northern Blues label, recorded two award-winning CDs together and toured throughout Canada and parts of Europe.

Doug and Sam also hosted the blues jam at the dearly departed Edge Pub in Comox for seven years every Wednesday night with musical compadre Todd Butler.

Separately, their musical resumes cover the musical gamut, from Hurrie's early performances with the likes of Jimi Hendrix and later, Honeyboy Edwards, to Cox's musical adventures with musicians like Long John Baldry, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and even Led Zep's John Paul Jones!

These two West Coast musicians have always had a very copacetic musical relationship and are thrilled to be visiting each others musical chops again after all these years.

Don't miss a great reunion of blues and rock and roll with Doug, Sam and their band at the Cumberland Hotel this Saturday. There will be no cover charge.
