Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer won’t be present in the flesh

Jan. 22 will feature an evening to enjoy as Square 1 Travel in conjunction with the Kiwanis Club of Courtenay bring you the greatest musical of all time.

Courtenay’s own “Maria,” Jennifer Moses, will be the MC, and this energetic, dynamic lady will warm up the audience as her own delightful Maria.

As well, those who dress in character will get a chance to parade across the stage before the movie.

Then sit back and join in the songs captioned on-screen, songs such as I Have Confidence, Maria, Sixteen Going On Seventeen, Do-Re-Mi, The Lonely Goatherd, So Long, Farewell, Climb Every Mountain, and so many more. Interact with the characters on-screen and you never know what will happen.

This uplifting and happy adventure through the Austrian countryside starts at 7 p.m., catching audiences up in the magical world of entertainment.

Last year’s comments were: “What a fun evening — lots of laughter;” “Audience participation was amazing;” “Lots of fun;” “We enjoyed the costumes that the participants dressed up as;” “The costumes were fabulous” …

The Sound of Music Singalong tickets are $25, available at the Sid Williams Theatre ticket office or online at www.sidwilliamstheatre.com. All proceeds go to St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation for chronic care equipment for the Pediatric Ward.
