Reggae coming to the Wave

The Waverley Hotel presents the funk and Latin-infused reggae band Providencia on Friday, July 5.

The Medellin, California band, which has been together for 13 years, is on the tail end of their promotional tour for their debut album Radio Candela, and will soon hit the studio for their follow-up album.

The band gained recognition in 2009 when it received the Subterrania award for Best Reggae Group. Providencia has toured throughout the U.S., as well as numerous locales in South and Central America.

Providencia has been invited to the biggest music festivals in Colombia; Altavoz, Rock al Parque, Manizales Grita Rock, Ibague Ciudad Rock, Miche Rock Festival and next week, they will be in Cumberland.
