After a highly successful debut at Zocalo Café, when they played to a full house in march, Serendipity Jazz will return on Aug. 18.

Serendipity Jazz is vocalist Jacqueline Lambeth with Ken Newman on piano. They are delighted to be joined this time by Al West on bass and Tracy Canil on flute.

Al West is a respected, accomplished and versatile bass player who has played in countless ensembles and house bands in musical theatre productions throughout the valley, most recently in Les Miserables.

Fantastic flautist Tracy Canil is also wonderfully versatile, regularly appearing with the Many Waters band as well as playing for musical theater productions and providing music therapy at St. Joseph's Hospital.

The evening's entertainment Aug. 18 will include many jazz standards from the 1920s through 1940s featuring well-loved composers Jerome Kern, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and Duke Ellington to name a few. There will be some fun surprises as well as songs made popular by Ella Fitzgerald and Judy Garland.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is by donation.
