Experienced instructor Judi Pedder will offer a new session of classes for painting with watercolours.
Pedder offers eight weekly classes on Tuesday mornings, 9:30 a.m. to noon, starting Jan. 18. These classes take place in Pedder’s studio/gallery in Comox.
Since moving to Comox in 2006, Pedder has taught regular classes and workshops for Campbell River Art Gallery, and workshops and demonstrations in Port Alberni, Parksville and at the Comox Valley Art Gallery. Her work on Masa paper is well known and she plans a workshop on that technique in the near future.
Pedder’s work has been shown in many local venues: Originals Only shows, the Federation of Canadian Artists’ juried shows, the Pearl Ellis Gallery and Filberg Heritage Lodge. She currently has work in the Eclectic Gallery in Victoria and in the Comox Recreation Centre.

Pedder’s teaching style encourages and guides each student individually; they choose their own subject matter and style of painting, sharing their success and struggles in the class setting. Pedder shows examples, does many short demos and uses her library of art instruction books to help students.
This method introduces her students to a wide range of ideas, and, most importantly, teaches observation skills both in the class and elsewhere.
