Zandhunga’s full-on Latin music experience is still on tonight (April 13), but the venue has changed. (See full article in Wednesday’s edition of the Record.)

The show that must go on is now at The Bridge Lounge, a fully licensed locale at the foot of Fifth Street in Courtenay that sees regular Latin dance classes during the week.

The show was originally scheduled for La Cabana de Marcos restaurant, which closed unexpectedly this week.

“This is a more dance-oriented venue,” said Britt de la Isla, bass player in the band. “The dance floor is larger and it has more seats.”

Zandhunga is a band of many ethnicities, led by Mexican-born multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Oscar Robles Diaz.  They play classic Latin salsa, rounded out with cumbias, cha-cha-chas, merengues and more.

Cover is $10 (cash only) at the door, while the bar accepts debit and most credit cards. There is no advance ticketing. Music (and dancing) start at 9 p.m.
