The ever-expanding social networking website Facebook has become a worldwide phenomenon with more than 600 million users.

Facebook is used by young and old to connect with family, friends and businesses and it has changed the online experience in ways we never could have imagined.

So do you know what your children are doing on Facebook?

A two-hour presentation and discussion will help parents understand more about Facebook to ensure that your children are safe online.

Facebook privacy settings, best practices for parents and tips for talking with your teens about Facebook will be included.

Local social media and Internet marketing specialists Jamie McCue and Sean Kerrigan of the Comox Valley Web Posse (cvwebposse.com) will conduct the workshop at North Island College’s Stan Hagen Theatre on Feb. 17.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation starting at 7.

Tickets are $10 per person or $18 per family and are on sale at facebookforparents.eventbrite.com and at the door.
