Hospital seeking input

Feedback on future needs of present facility is welcome

With the opening of the new North Island hospital in the Comox Valley (projected for 2017), the acute care services currently provided at St. Joseph’s General Hospital will transfer to the new hospital.

Remaining on the St. Joseph’s site will be residential care beds (The Views, including the hospice cluster that will open at The Views by the end of 2014). The owner of St. Joseph’s, the Bishop of Victoria, is supportive of exploring how the St. Joseph’s site may be used to meet non-hospital based health and seniors’ care needs for the community and region in an affordable, sustainable manner.

In order to have a thoughtful, well managed approach to exploring our future role, a “Future Role Task Force” has been established, under the St. Joseph’s Board of Directors, to oversee options around potential future roles for St. Joseph’s in the Comox Valley. St. Joseph’s respects and values your input and seeks to engage community feedback through a short online survey.

For further information and to access the survey please follow this weblink: http://www.sjghcomox.ca/

During this phase of the project, we are interested in overall thoughts about the future role of St. Joseph's. As the project progresses, we expect to have additional opportunities for the community and key stakeholders to provide feedback on some of the options that we will be considering and we will be asking additional questions specifically related to shortlisted options.
