Comox resident Suzanne Judge thought there was someone at her door during the early morning hours Monday at her home on Avro Arrow Drive.

To her surprise, it wasn’t a person, but rather a bear.

Judge said around 1:15 a.m. Monday, her boyfriend opened the front door thinking there was someone there.

“Surprise! It was a bear,” she explained.

She added she recently had thrown out a bouquet of flowers which she believes may have attracted the animal. She snapped a photo through her window and posted a warning on social media later in the morning.

She urged people to put away their garbage, compost and bird feeders to ensure the bear does not return.
