Kindergarten registration for Comox Valley Schools is coming up.
The school district announced the registration dates on Jan. 7. This month, parents can register their children for a variety of kindergarten programs available across the district.
Registration Dates and Programs:
Neighbourhood Schools (most students):
- Registration Opens: Tuesday, January 21 at 6 p.m.
- How to Register: Online at www.comoxvalleyschools.ca/student-registration
- Details: Parents should register their children through the website above for their current neighbourhood catchment school. While most students will be accommodated at their local school, placement cannot be guaranteed and may require attending the nearest school with available space.
Early French Immersion, Montessori, and Indigenous K-1 Programs:
- Registration Opens: Tuesday, January 14 at 6:00 p.m.
- How to Register: Complete the expression of interest form on the SD 71 registration page. www.comoxvalleyschools.ca/expression-of-interest-form/
- Details: Programs are available at Ecole Robb Road, Ecole Puntledge Park, Queneesh Elementary, and Courtenay Elementary. Priority is given to siblings of current students if registered by Friday, January 17, 2025.
Navigate (NIDES) Compass Program and Fine Arts eCademy (FAe):
- Registration Opens: Beginning of February 2025 (exact date to be announced)
- How to Register: Online at www.navigatenides.com
- Details: The Compass Program and FAe Kindergarten will hold an open house at the Tsolum Campus on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Program entry for FAe is based on a lottery system.
Children who will be five years old by the end of December, 2025 are eligible for enrollment in the upcoming school year.
