The Comox Valley Education Partners are going to host an election forum for provincial candidates on Oct. 2. The event will take place at Vanier Secondary school in the multipurpose room from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m..

Three local groups that support public education in the Comox Valley are coming together to host an election forum for provincial candidates. The groups include the District Parent Advisory Council, The Comox District Teachers Association and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 439.

During the two hour forum, candidates will answer questions from the partner groups and the public. Each candidate will have a minute to answer their question. There will be no open microphone for questions from the public.

Candidates included will represent both the Courtenay/Comox and Mid-Island Pacific Rim areas.

This is a public event and everyone is invited to attend. All candidates in the two districts who have put their names forward for the ballot have been invited. This is an opportunity to hear from all the candidates regarding public education.

The candidates will open with a speech to hear their platform. The public can submit questions for consideration to: comoxvalleyeducation@gmail.com by Sept. 27.
