Courtenay’s weekly summer festival, Summer Pulse on the Plaza will feature music, art making and exhibitions from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m..

This free, all-ages event, will take place on the Comox Valley Art Gallery plaza at the corner of Sixth Street and Duncan Avenue.

Music will be provided by DJ ReSister, Jozy and the Comox Valley Pop-Up Choir. This event is a lead up to Saturday’s Pride parade. As well as the music, there will be on-demand screen printing led by Andy MacDougall, all-ages make art stations provided by Comox Valley Art Gallery (CVAG) staff and local artists.

There will also be food and drinks while CVAG’s exhibition “Diane Landry: matter in TIme” will be staying open late.

Queer Culture, Pride Comox Valley, and Lush Valley are all collaborators in Friday’s event.

“We’re excited to collaborate with so many cultural and community organizations to celebrate Pride,” said Kitty Pitt of Queer Culture.
