Patients and visitors at the new North Island Hospital Campbell River and Comox Valley campuses will have access to public wireless internet .

This free internet service will be similar to that found in public locations such as airports and coffee shops and will have the capacity to support basic internet surfing and browsing.

Island Health is not adding any new wireless signals or access points - the service is being provided using existing wi-fi coverage. Patients and visitors can access the new service by searching for and connecting to the wireless network “IslandHealthGuest.”

The North Island Hospital campuses will be the first Island Health sites to have public wi-fi. Island Health’s goal is to expand public wi-fi to other facilities in the future.
