19 Wing Comox’s Wing Auxiliary Security Force (WASF) will be conducting training at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Comox and the Department of National Defence Seal Bay training area from April 12-16.

Members of the public may see an increase in activity at the Seal Bay training area, increased activity at the main gate to CFB Comox, and activity behind the Junior Ranks and Sergeant and Warrant’s Mess, which backs onto Military Row. Military members may be carrying training weapons during the activities.

Residents of the Comox Valley are reminded that these activities are routine military training and that there is no need to report them to 19 Wing Comox or to local emergency services.

The WASF is designed to augment the military police, and to provide a trained force to meet increased manpower demands generated by other than normal operations (natural disasters, aircraft crashes, and expanded security operations).

Any questions may be directed to 19 Wing Comox Public Affairs at 250-339-8201 or 19wingpublicaffairs@forces.gc.ca.
