A gas station in Cumberland was the site of an armed robbery late Thursday (Oct. 21) evening.
According to the Comox Valley RCMP, around 11 p.m. police responded to a report of a robbery at the Cumberland Esso at 2766 Dunsmuir Ave.
The victim reported that a man entered the business, demanded money and brandished what appeared to be a firearm. The suspect fled on foot and despite the efforts by frontline members, he was not located.
“The suspect was wearing a black Adidas hoody, black pants, black gloves, and a green face-covering described as a scarf or bandana,” said Const. Monika Terragni, media relations officer with the Comox Valley RCMP. “Investigators from the Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime Unit are in the area again today gathering evidence.”
Surveillance cameras captured an image of the suspect. Additional images will be released as they become available.
