Arrests made in Campbell River drug trafficking investigation

Campbell River RCMP with the assistance from Island District General Investigations Section arrested four males in relation to drug trafficking charges, Sunday, Feb. 25, after weeks of investigation.

Police seized a quantity of illicit drugs which they believe to be fentanyl, carfentanyl, methamphetamine, crack cocaine and powder cocaine. Police also seized a quantity of cash during this operation.

Arrested were Gunder Bringi, 21; Brmbel Omerkodi, 20, Brandan Doneley, 27; and Jody Catherwood, 28.

Campbell River RCMP said in a press release that Bringi and Omerkodi are believed to have ties to Lower Mainland gang activity. Bringi was also found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for an unrelated matter out of Burnaby.

All four made their first court appearances in Campbell River March 2.
