The inspiring presentation, Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream, can give you the hope and the desire to make a difference in 2011.

The inspiring presentation, Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream, can give you the hope and the desire to make a difference in 2011.

The workshop this weekend, built around a very powerful series of videos, explores new ways of seeing the big sustainability, spiritual and social justice challenges and opportunities of the early-21st century.

Via the film, participants hear from far-sighted community leaders — Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Julia Butterfly Hill, Van Jones, Paul Hawken, Maude Barlow and many more. The workshop also includes quiet reflection, lively breakout groups and practical tools.

In a change of venue, the workshop will be held at Creekside Commons. It is found by driving up Cumberland Road until Arden Road and turn left, then an immediate left onto Morello, then two blocks to Lambert and into the Commons.

The workshop takes place this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes lunch.

Space is limited and tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students, available at Comox United Church (250-339-3966) or at Winds of Change at B357 Fifth St. in Courtenay.

For more information, call 250-338-9060.
