This weekend will be a busy one for nine Vancouver Island individuals, who won prizes in a pair of Black Press sweepstakes contests Monday.

The lucky winners of a night at the beautiful and historic Fairmont Empress Hotel, a $50 dining gift card and tickets to the 2013 Victoria Harbour Boat Show, on April 18 to 21, include Keira Pinchbeck, Christine Adams, Joseph Dibb, Donald Symes, Paige Lycett and Ron Wilschut of Parksville.

Three other winners are off to the 2013 Home Expo, due to take over West Shore Parks and Recreation dry floor surfaces at Bear Mountain Arena, the Juan de Fuca hockey arena and curling rink this Friday through Sunday.

First-prize winner Betty McKee collects four tickets to the Home Expo plus a $75 gift card for Canoe Restaurant and Brew Pub. Second-prize winner Dory Thuot receives four tickets to the show, while third-prize winner Andrew Raycroft gets two tickets.

“We appreciate the interest of those who entered these wonderful prize giveaways and wish the winners a fun time this weekend,” says Black Press South Island group publisher Penny Sakamoto.
