The body of Ron Lloyd Mackintosh of Courtenay was “found in wasteland near the coastal town of Barra de Navidad,” according to the Guadalajara Reporter.
The body of Mackintosh, whom family friends say retired from his job with Koers and Associates Engineering in Parksville and moved to Mexico, was discovered Tuesday morning.
A source at the Barra de Navidad police station told the Reporter that a municipal patrol found the body about one kilometer from the centre of the popular beach resort. He was reported missing Oct. 22.
The newspaper said sources has reported Mackintosh had been tied to a tree.
