Dirty cars welcomed!

19 Air Maintenance Squadron hosts its fourth annual car wash in support of YANA at the Canex parking lot on August 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“As military members, we know how important family bonds are during times of need,” said Captain James Cox, 19 AMS Liaison officer to YANA. “19 Air Maintenance Squadron is honoured to continue our support for YANA through team building activities and participation in community events throughout the year.”

19 AMS has assisted YANA since 2009 through car washes and providing personnel to support other YANA fundraisers. Volunteers are eager to exceed last year’s $960 contribution, hoping to raise $1,200 to $1,400 this year.

Wing commander Col. Jim Benninger and acting wing chief Warrant Officer Cam Winters will be on hand from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help sling suds and scrub cars.

YANA (You Are Not Alone) was founded in 1986, and is committed to supporting the families of School District 71 in the Comox Valley by helping children between the ages of 0-19 receive medical treatment that is not locally available.
