The chief executive officer of the Comox Valley Airport will be part of a transportation panel discussion next week in Nanaimo.

The chief executive officer of the Comox Valley Airport will be part of a transportation panel discussion next week in Nanaimo.

Fred Bigelow will participate in the sixth annual State of the Island Summit on Oct. 15 and 16.

He's in a discussion about the future of Island transportation in which experts will explore how existing transportation service and infrastructure enhances or inhibits economic prosperity on the Island.

Other panel members are Mike Corrigan, president and CEO of BC Ferries; Mike Hooper, president and CEO of the Nanaimo Airport Commission; Steve Roth, vice-president of Seaspan Ferries Corporation; and Quentin Smith, president of Pacific Coastal Airlines.

The Summit will be at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in downtown Nanaimo.
