Comox Valley RCMP are looking for an older-model, import vehicle used by someone allegedly following a woman in Courtenay recently.

The incident occurred on Saturday, April 25 at approximately 1:50 p.m. in the area of Piercy Avenue and 21st Street in Courtenay. A 58-year-old woman reported to police that she was being followed by someone in a yellow/brown coloured, older import vehicle for approximately 20 minutes while she walked through the area.

“We are sharing this information with our residents for a couple of reasons,” said Const. Monika Terragni, spokesperson for the Comox Valley RCMP. “First, we’d like to hear from anyone else who has experienced a similar incident with this vehicle. Additionally, we’d like to remind our residents to call and report anything suspicious. It is so important for us to gather information about what is going on in our community so that we can identify problem areas and address those areas.”

The woman was able to provide investigators with the licence plate number of the vehicle. Police are following up with the registered owner.
