Courtenay man arrested after fleeing police twice

A 33-year-old Courtenay man is facing charges including obstructing a police officer and breach of probation order.

A 33-year-old Courtenay man is facing charges including obstructing a police officer and breach of probation order.

On May 18, 2018 members of the Comox Valley RCMP located James Quinn who was wanted on several outstanding warrants. Quinn was arrested by police but fled on his bicycle.

Later, he was located by police and arrested again. Quinn fled on his bicycle for a second time and a foot pursuit ensued. The foot pursuit continued along Headquarters Road where he was struck by a nearby truck.

Quinn suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

He remains in police custody and is set to appear in court on May 23, 2018.
