Police have made an arrest in an incident involving armed robbery at the Sun Kissed Beauty Bar.

Comox Valley RCMP arrested a suspect  over the weekend related to an armed robbery incident early Wednesday afternoon at Sun Kissed Beauty Bar.

Thirty-six-year-old Courtenay resident Jonathan Thomas was arrested July 16, and charged with Robbery and Disguise with Intent.

Thomas was held in custody after a Judicial Justice of the Peace hearing  and will make his first court appearance July 21.

Police said the suspect entered the business, located at 470 Puntledge Rd., and brandished a knife and took money from the till.

He then left riding a blue bike with yellow markings. The staff of the business complied with the demands and no one was injured.

The salon is located next to Canadian Western Bank near Comox Road.

“This is the second time in two weeks, that all of our detachment sections have worked together to produce a positive result,” explained Comox Valley Officer-in-Charge Inspector Tim Walton.

“This is another example of our members doing old-fashioned police work - putting in some long hours, talking to witnesses and gathering  evidence to be able to make an arrest and get criminal charges approved,” he added.
