A Courtenay man has received jail time for stealing a donation jar.
On April 16, a man well-known to Comox Valley RCMP helped himself to donations people had been leaving in a jar for popular local charity You Are Not Alone at Shoppers Drug Mart on Eighth Street in Courtenay.
Thanks to video surveillance, police were able to quickly identify the suspect and have him brought before the courts.
Darryl Shea Atherton, 30, was sentenced to 86 days.
