We received a call warning others of a current credit card scam.
A reader called the Record office to advise she had received a phone call from someone identifying himself as "John, from Visa.”
He proceeded to tell her that a recent purchase was made on her credit card, which she had not made. He then claimed that her card security had been compromised, and asked for the first four digits of her credit card.
If you receive a call of this nature, hang up. Credit card companies will never ask for such information. If you are concerned about unauthorized usage on your credit card, call your credit card company.
