The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) has been advised that 3L Developments intends on amending its petition with the BC Supreme Court. The case, originally slated for Jan. 17 and 18, will now be heard March 12-15 in Vancouver.

3L is seeking nine court orders linked to the CVRD board’s Oct. 2 decision to deny the company’s application for an amendment to the Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) to create a new settlement node. The Nanaimo-based 3L had hoped to create a riverfront community near Stotan Falls, consisting of about 1,100 homes and a 250-acre park. The company has twice won court decisions after challenging the CVRD about due process.

The CVRD has said it followed proper procedure as it considered the company’s application. The district’s lawyer has advised to limit comments on the matter while it is before the court.
