Cannabis for Health presents Botanicals and the Endocannabinoid System with Dr. Christoph Kind, naturopathic physician, Friday, March 24, 7-9 p.m. at 2696 Dunsmuir Ave. in Cumberland (next to Waverley Hotel).
The newly discovered endocannabinoid system (ECS), in humans and animals, is responsible for homeostasis (balance, equilibrium, stability) of many physiological processes.
There are receptors for endogenous (made inside the body) cannabinoids (anandamide and 2AG) throughout the body. Plant cannabinoids (thc, cbd, cbn, cbc, cbg, etc), alkylamides, and other constituents, attach to the same receptors.
Cannabis for Health will be open Tuesday-Sunday, 2-6 p.m., as a drop-in educational resource, with weekly scheduled presentations, films, and discussions.
