On Nov. 1 at approximately 5:30 a.m. the Comox Valley RCMP responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Highway 19A in Merville, British Columbia.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene and the vehicle involved left southbound towards Courtenay.

The highway is currently closed and will remain as such for several hours during this investigation.

The Comox Valley RCMP is currently looking for a vehicle with heavy front end damage in relation to this incident.
