Co-owner Jeff Lucas said Monday he hopes to have the Old House Restaurant reopened in several days after a weekend fire.Firefighters responded early Sunday morning to a blaze at the historic Courtenay restaurant next to the Courtenay River near the 17th Street Bridge.Lucas and Don Sharpe announced in September 2010 that they had purchased the restaurant, which had closed its doors in April 2010 after a variety of name and menu changes.At the time, Sharpe said he would continue working as the director of business operations at Mount Washington Alpine Resort.Lucas, who quit his job as territory manager at Labatt Breweries, would be involved with day-to-day operations of the restaurant.See Wednesday's Comox Valley Record for details.
