Each Christmas Glacier View Lodge illuminates a tower of lights to shine over the Comox Valley.
When you look up at night at our lights on the mountain, we invite you to think of the people in your life who have contributed to the amazing community we live in and consider donating to the Lodge in their honour or memory.
Glacier View Lodge is a nonprofit long-term care home operated by Glacier View Lodge Society. We provide private rooms to 101 Comox residents, an Adult Day Program for 80 community clients, a respite bed, community bathing, and caregiver education. Operating funding through the health authority allows us to provide care. Our generous community donors help us provide resident quality-of-life initiatives.
This year’s campaign will support two initiatives: the first will support residents in need. Many of those who come to the lodge require financial support beyond their means. The fund will allow us to purchase specialty medical equipment, pay for medical transport for appointments, or to support the purchase of essential personal items.
The second Legacy of Light fund will help us replace old equipment. This year we need to replace a kitchen steamer and a commercial washer. A new steamer will ensure we can continue to provide high-quality modified food textures needed by many of our residents, and the new washer will ensure that we can launder clothing in a timely way.
We invite you to support the Legacy of Light fund with a $25 or $50 purchase of a light or lights in memory or honour of someone you loved. This can be done by visiting our website: www.glacierviewlodge.ca
