The Glacier View Auxiliary Society is requesting the help and participation of the Comox Valley community in

the production of a 2022 calendar as part of their 40th-anniversary celebration and latest fundraising initiative.

They are looking for 13 unique, all-season views of the Comox Valley Glacier – from the front, back, atop, above, and side in a variety of artistic mediums.

Contestants of all ages, professional and amateur alike are invited to submit a digital copy of their photographs, paintings, texture art, sculptures, etc. for inclusion in this year’s calendar. Submissions should be made as a JPEG attachment with your contact information and a brief description of the location to the gvls.auxiliary@gmail.com . Entries must be received no later than Sept. 10.

A local committee will adjudicate the submissions, with the top 13 being the highlight of the 2022 calendar. The winners will be featured with a small biography on their feature month within the calendar, as well as be featured throughout their month on our web and Facebook pages. It is expected the calendars will be ready for sale by Thanksgiving weekend, which is making it a perfect gift for family, friends and business associates this Christmas.

Fifteen hundred copies of the calendar will be produced and will be available throughout the Comox Valley at select retailers, our sponsor, the Glacier View Lodge and through auxiliary members. Funds raised from this community fundraiser will be used to support enhanced services and programs for the residents at the long-term care home, as well as provide three new bursaries for Comox Valley high school graduates pursuing a career in senior care and/or health sciences.
