Graham, Law re-elected on Denman and Hornby islands

Islands Trust candidates David Graham and Tony Law were re-elected on Denman and Hornby islands respectively.

Islands Trust candidates David Graham and Tony Law were re-elected on Denman and Hornby islands respectively, according to final preliminary results announced Saturday night.

 

Graham topped the Denman polls with 302 votes. Laura Busheikin took the other Denman seat on the Islands Trust council with 245 ballots.

 

David Critchley (167), Bill Engleson (84), Laura Pope (77) and Kathy Dunster (62) fell short.

 

On Hornby, Law led all candidates with 273 votes, 69 ahead of runner-up and new trustee Alex Allen (204).

 

In a tight five-man race, Fred Hunt (199), William Thomas (188) and Ron Emerson completed the field.

 

The four successful candidates are elected for three years.
