The crew of a Cormorant helicopter from 442 Squadron at CFB Comox rescued an ill hunter Friday night during a snowstorm on the Brooks Peninsula.
Responding to a distress call from a hunting party in the remote area near the northwest tip of Vancouver Island, the crew braved limited visibility to reach the scene.
A signal flare lit by the hunters helped to guide the copter crew to the scene.
After the sick hunter was hoisted up into the Coromorant, he was flown to Port Hardy, then taken by ambulance to hospital. His condition is unknown.
