Operators continue to prepare for launch of a foot-passenger ferry service from Nanaimo to Vancouver, as a pair of vessels are now headed for the Harbour City.

In a social media post on Friday, June 2, Hullo Ferries announced its 354-seat vessels have set sail from a Damen Group facility in Vietnam and are now “en route to Vancouver Island.”

Vancouver Island Ferry Company announced the Hullo branding in April and broke ground at the site of its terminal at 100 Port Drive at that time. The company is planning seven daily trips to and from Vancouver, with travel time lasting 70 minutes.

More information will be forthcoming and Hullo Ferries said a vessel tracking feature will be unveiled next week at its website, www.hullo.com.

Fare rates, schedules and amenities are also expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
