Roger Kishi filed nomination papers today for re- election as Councillor for the Village of Cumberland. Municipal elections are throughout BC on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

“I look forward to the opportunity to serve another term as councillor for the Village of Cumberland,” says Kishi. “I believe that I have the skills and experience to serve residents of Cumberland into the future.”

In his first term, Roger has been part of the council that has seen many accomplishments. The revision of Cumberland’s Official Community Plan (OCP), Village Park Master Plan, which includes the off- leash dog park, new playground, and soon to be designed skatepark, and the annual $300,000 Host Community Agreement for the Comox Valley Waste Management Facility, and $3 million for upgrades of Cumberland & Bevan Roads.

“Cumberland is becoming distinct in the Comox Valley with our growth of young families,” adds Kishi. “That is a benefit and a challenge, but with an engaged community and progressive council, we can be up to the task.”

Roger’s roles in his first council term included Comox Strathcona Solid Waste Management Board, Comox Strathcona Regional Hospital District, Comox Valley Regional District- Alternate, St. Joseph’s General Hospital Board, Comox Valley Housing Task Force and South Sewer Select Standing Committee.

“We have a strong history in Cumberland, challenges in the present, and some great opportunities for the future, and I am seeking voters support on November 15 to be re- elected as councillor for the Village of Cumberland.”
