Do you want more information about B.C.’s referendum that will be coming to mailboxes this fall?

Do you want to clarify your own position about the choices? Or are you just plain confused?

Here’s your opportunity to ‘get in the know’ regarding this mail-in electoral reform referendum which is scheduled between Oct. 22 and Nov. 30.

Pam Munroe, a member of Fair Vote Comox Valley, will be presenting an information session on the referendum and some background information.

The single most important question will be whether to keep our existing electoral system, known as First Past The Post (FPTP) or change to a system of proportional representation.

The presentation will involve a brief talk about all four voting systems. Part of the event includes a self-quiz with 16 elements of voting systems.

How the questions are answered will help clarify which voting system is more aligned with the participant’s values. For more information on voting systems, visit Elections BC website at www.elections.bc.ca.

Consider attending this event at the Fanny Bay hall, 7793 Island Highway, on Monday, Oct. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Admission is by donation and refreshments will be available. For more information, contact Pam Lengyel or Lise Lague at: lise_lague@telus.net.
