The RCMP and military police continue to investigate a possible attempted child abduction near CFB Comox.

A nine-year-old young girl was riding her bicycle from the Glacier Gardens Arena and Recreation Centre on Friday at about 4 p.m. when she was reportedly approached by a blue van.

“Have you ever been kidnapped before?” one of two men allegedly asked the girl, who rode home and told her mother what happened. The mother reported the incident to military base at the base.

The clean-shaven driver is described as about 50 years old with a scar on his left cheek. He wore jeans and a navy blue T-shirt.

The blond-haired passenger had a star tattoo on the left side of his neck with a moustache and a small scar under his lip. He was wearing blue jeans and a black T-shirt.

Their vehicle is described as a blue cargo-style Chevrolet Astro Van with windows on the rear doors and panels on the sides.
