The Cumberland Chamber of Commerce is calling vendors, exhibitors, non-profit organizations, recreation and cultural groups, entertainers and artists to get their funky on and join them for Village Market Day. Dunsmuir Avenue will be closed between First and Fourth to create a downtown pedestrian market May 19 as part of the Empire Days celebrations. The more creative and educational the vendors and exhibitors, the more fun will be had.
Market Day begins with a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. at Village Square. The market opens at 10 a.m.
There will be entertainment all day. Cumberland Community School Society is co-ordinating children's activities. Mayworks is sponsoring ART Kart derbies for children and adults. Buskers are welcome.
