Premier Christy Clark comes to Courtenay on Tuesday for a town hall meeting as a newly elected MLA.

Residents of the Comox Valley are invited to join Premier Christy Clark at a live town hall meeting Tuesday.

The premier, elected Wednesday in a byelection in Vancouver-Point Grey to replace former premier Gordon Campbell, will be joined by Comox Valley MLA and Agriculture Minister Don McRae as well as Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation Pat Bell.

The event in Courtenay is the first of its kind on Vancouver Island and follows previous public town hall meetings in Richmond and Fort St. John. Area residents will have the opportunity to ask questions of the premier and the ministers.

"The premier made a commitment on Day One to listen to the people of this province," McRae said in a news release. "Now residents of the Comox Valley will have the opportunity to have their voice heard."

The town hall will take place at the Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community on May 17 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
