Two Town of Comox staff members earned six-figure salaries last year, with 11 staff members making more than $75,000, according to year-end financial statements released Wednesday.
Administrator Richard Kanigan topped the list at $124,331, followed by Don Jacquest, director of finance for the town at $107,455.
Other staff members on the list shy of $100,000 were Town Planner Marvin Kamenz at $97,496, followed by Fire Chief Gord Schreiner at $95,360 and Municipal Engineer Shelley Ashfield at $92,872.
Other top earners include Deputy Director of Finance Debra Andrew ($76,474), Parks Superintendent Al Fraser ($84,273), Foreman Brett Green ($77,466), Assistant Fire Chiefs Jim Lariviere ($78,720) and Rick Shelton ($77,914), Deputy Corporate Administrator Shelly Russwurm ($84,273), Recreation Director Jim Stevenson ($84,075) and Public Works Superintendent Glenn Westendorp ($88,468).
Expenses for the employees totalled $78,588, with salaries totalling $2,852,376.
Remuneration for elected officials was $16,624 for each of the six town councillors, and $31,047 for Mayor Paul Ives.
Expenses varied from $6,503 for Coun. Maureen Swift to $1,957 for Coun. Ken Grant, totalling $35,263 for all.
Salaries for the elected officials totalled $130,791.
