Kinetic awarded curling rink contract

The regional district has awarded a contract worth $1,480,700 to Kinetic Construction to renovate the Comox Valley Curling Club facility, as approved by the CVRD board.
Following an Alternate Approval Process last year, the public authorized the district to borrow $1.9 million to renovate the aged building and rink at the exhibition grounds.
The CVRD owns the facility and leases the building to the club, which will contribute $100,000 to the project.
Renovations are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
