Vickey Brown is running for School Trustee in the Village of Cumberland.
Brown has a background in community development, non-profit management and community economic development along with her education in Environmental Studies and Political Science. For the past four years she’s sat on the board of the Cumberland Community Schools Society; three years as chair of this organization.
She has two children at Cumberland Community School and is excited about the new campus and the opportunities that this brings.
Vickey has a long history in Cumberland and a passion for the community.
Having more than 15 years’ experience in community development work, on various boards, she advocates for inclusive consultation and hopes to bring this mandate to her work as a trustee.
She is passionate about the public school system and is committed to working hard to strengthen that system so that all of our children have the best educational options available to them.
Having watched the Village of Cumberland change over the past 20 years, she is keen to represent this changing community on the school board.
Over her years with CCSS she has gained valuable experience as a leader a listener and an observer of the school system. And is enthusiastic to take on the challenge of representing the public at the school board.
