ONLINE FIRST: Comox Valley RCMP seeking longboard thieves

The Comox Valley RCMP are investigating a robbery that occurred Friday at approximately 6:23 p.m., when a young male was robbed of his longboard outside the Apple Tree Grocery on Fifth Street in Courtenay.

The Comox Valley RCMP are investigating a robbery that occurred Friday at approximately 6:23 p.m., when a young male was robbed of his longboard outside the Apple Tree Grocery on Fifth Street in Courtenay.

The victim was approached by two males, approximately 17 years old, who asked how much his board was worth and then grabbed it from him. The victim pleaded with the males to give it back and the second male told him to stop following them and punched him in the face.

The Comox Valley RCMP are looking for the public's assistance in identifying these two males who are described as:

Suspect 1:

• Caucasian;

• Approximately five feet, eight inches;

• 160 to 170 pounds;

• Dark green ballcap;

• Green and grayish hoodie pulled up over his cap.

Suspect 2:

• Caucasian;

• Approximately five feet, eight inches;

• Approximately 168 pounds;

• wearing a hoodie.

The longboard is a Rayne Nemesis, light orange wheels, green trucks, with a green and black graphic of a bird.
