Paws for a Cause event proceeding Sunday in Comox as scheduled

All but one provincial Scotiabank and BC SPCA Paws for a Cause walks scheduled across the province for this Sunday will go ahead as planned.Only the Surrey Paws for a Cause walk, which was to have taken place at Crescent Park, is cancelled.There are more than 31 Pause for a Cause walks taking place across the province this Sunday alone. Support remains urgently needed to help an estimated 34,000 animals this year."We would like to let people know that it is only the Surrey walk that has been cancelled, because of unforeseen events involving a few Surrey branch staff contracting a mild skin condition," says Denise Meade, BC SPCA director. "Though there appears to be no serious health issue, until the matter is diagnosed, we don’t want to put anyone else at risk."For more information about Sunday's Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause walks, visit spca.bc.ca/walk.The Comox Valley event will be held Sunday at Marina Park in Comox. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The walk start time is 10.Activities will include dog agility and flyball demonstrations, bobbing for wieners, a toy toss, a treasure hunt and lots of fun.
