Courtenay-Alberni MP Gord Johns and NDP Official Critic for Trade Tracey Ramsey are hosting a public meeting for an in-depth discussion on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Monday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay.
“This new trade deal, which was negotiated in secret, threatens to kill up to 60,000 good Canadian jobs, stifle innovation and hurt Canadian farmers,” Johns’ office notes in a press release. MP Ramsey will explain what the TPP trade deal means to Canadians and explore options on how the public can give feedback to the government about it.
The Florence Filberg Centre is located at 411 Anderton Ave. Parking will be in the upper parking lot as the lower parking lot will be closed due to construction.
