RCMP want information about Courtenay hit-and-run

Comox Valley RCMP are seeking the driver of a Chevrolet Cavalier or Pontiac Sunfire who was involved in a hit-and-run incident Friday night.

At about 11:15 p.m., police responded to the incident at 26th Street and Fitzgerald Avenue in Courtenay.

A 37-year-old man in a crosswalk suffered many non-life-threatening injuries and was helped by passers-by. The injured pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment.

The vehicle that struck him continued westbound on 26th Street. It’s described as a late 1990s or early 2000s blue, four-door Cavalier or Sunfire with its front licence plate hanging down. The car might have sustained front-end and/or windshield damage.
